About OpenGovt

Neutral government analysis for informed citizens

Our Mission

OpenGovt exists to provide citizens with unbiased, factual analysis of their government representatives. In an era of polarized media and party-driven narratives, we believe voters deserve access to neutral information that helps them evaluate their elected officials based on actual performance rather than rhetoric.

We do not endorse any political party, candidate, or ideology. Our role is to document, analyze, and present verifiable facts so that you can form your own conclusions.

Methodology

Data Sources

We collect information from official government records, public documents, verified news reports from multiple sources, and published statements. Every data point must be traceable to a verifiable source.

Rating System

Politicians receive a 1-10 rating based on objective criteria: promise fulfillment rate, documented achievements, verified missteps, and contextual factors like inherited challenges or external circumstances. Ratings are recalculated as new information becomes available.

Promise Tracking

We track promises from election manifestos, public statements, and official announcements. Each promise is categorized as Fulfilled, In Progress, Partial, or Pending based on verifiable outcomes.

Context Matters

We document the electoral context, coalition dynamics, and external factors that influence government performance. A politician facing a natural disaster or economic crisis is evaluated differently than one operating in favorable conditions.

Rating Scale

7-10

High Performance

Majority of promises fulfilled, significant achievements, minimal verified missteps

4-6

Mixed Performance

Some promises fulfilled, moderate achievements balanced with documented issues

1-3

Low Performance

Few promises fulfilled, minimal achievements, significant verified issues
